Join Our Team at German Ship Repair Jamaica!

We are expanding our technical team at Jamaica's first ship repair yard with a floating dock facility in Harbour View, Kingston, and are currently recruiting for a Marine Painter & Blaster.

Role

  • Responsible for surface preparation, abrasive blasting, and application of protective coatings on vessels and shipyard structures.

Responsibilities

  • ✓ Prepare steel surfaces using abrasive blasting, power tools, and other approved methods.
  • ✓ Apply marine coatings and paint systems in accordance with technical specifications and manufacturers' recommendations.
  • ✓ Inspect prepared surfaces and completed coating work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • ✓ Maintain blasting and painting equipment and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Requirements

  • ✓ Previous experience in abrasive blasting and industrial or marine painting.
  • ✓ Knowledge of surface preparation methods, coating systems, and safe handling of painting materials.
  • ✓ Ability to work safely in confined spaces and industrial environments.
  • ✓ Shipyard experience is an advantage.
