The posting explicitly states 'This is a globally remote role' and 'Home based - Worldwide' with no work authorization, citizenship, or language requirements beyond English. The 20% travel provision for 'team and company events' is optional in-person alignment, not a residency or commuting requirement — the role is explicitly non-office-based and Canonical is described as 'very few office-based roles' with '1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries'. The target user (UTC-5, English-monolingual, no US/EU work auth) faces no stated gate violations.
“Home based - Worldwide” Geographic scope — No location restrictions stated — worldwide.
“This is a globally remote role.” Physical presence — Explicitly confirms the role is remote globally, contradicting any in-office or hybrid interpretation.
“Home based - Worldwide” Geographic scope — Source metadata confirms worldwide scope with no geographic restriction.
“Travel to team and company events and customer meetings, roughly 20% or less” Physical presence — Travel is for optional strategic team sprints and events (described earlier as 'two to four times yearly'), not a residency or commuting requirement. This is common at distributed companies and does not exclude remote workers.
“We recruit on a global basis” Work authorization — Affirms global hiring without work authorization gatekeeping.
“Strong communication and cooperation skills” Language — No language requirement beyond English is stated or implied. Technical skills are listed without bilingual or non-English language demands.
