About the role

Reports to: Managing Director of Trading

Cemcoa is looking to grow its global footprint by developing into new markets. We welcome candidates with an existing strong network in the cement industry to join us in growing together.

Job Description: An experienced trader who is experienced in trading of cement industry bulk commodities such as Cement, Clinker, Slag, Coal, Gypsum and Limestone. Other related bulk commodities are also considered. He/she must be comfortable managing the purchase and sale of the cargo, as well as managing the freight side of the trade (with the help of our in-house shipping teams). Identify and capture market opportunities that could enhance local and regional portfolio positions. Maintain good relationships with all trading partners and grow Cemcoa’s presence in the new market. We are seeking traders who have ready-business, are actively growing their portfolio, and need a platform to scale up.

Qualifications/Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience in cement industry bulk commodities trading - managing all aspects of trade.
  • Deep knowledge of chartering and shipping operations
  • Demonstrated the ability to grow a portfolio of new products or new markets

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse local and international markets to find trading opportunities.
  • Securing multiple strategic suppliers and reliable buyers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and all counterparties to ensure efficient handling of shipments
  • Ensure profitable trades by optimising costs and mitigating risks during the trading process.
  • Meet suppliers and buyers at regular intervals and keep management informed of every emerging opportunity or threat.
  • Prepare competitive offers for shipment of dry bulk cargoes and participate in negotiations with clients and finalizing the sale and purchase.
  • Draft contracts with terms to protect the organization's interest, at the same time ensuring the client's comfort level.
  • Monitor activities of trade partners against contract terms and identify performance problems or contractual issues.
  • Resolve trade contracts, disputes, or performance issues at the operational level.
  • Create and present regular reports to management, including market reports, budgeting and business planning.
  • Collaborate with and support other traders in Cemcoa trading team.
  • Support continuous work improvement activities and performance improvement strategies.

ESSENTIAL AND DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Technical/ Academic Competences: • Bachelor’s Degree

Behavioral Competencies: • High EQ - good interpersonal relationship • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated • Must have logical approach to problem solving. • Proven organizational and prioritization skills • A team player with a can-do approach Managerial Competencies: • Great negotiatior and a fast leaner. • Stong analytical mind • Good communication skills (verbal and written). Experience: • 5+ years’ experience in cement industry commodities trading and or shipping • Growing a portfolio of new products or new markets
