About the role

micro1 is engaging Chemistry Professors and Researchers (PhD) to contribute their academic expertise and subject mastery for a customer’s initiative. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  • Design, review, and refine chemistry content, questions, and real-world scenarios for AI training and evaluation purposes.
  • Assess and provide feedback on the accuracy, relevance, and clarity of complex chemistry materials and solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of datasets by curating and annotating chemistry-related texts and problems.
  • Utilize pedagogical experience to ensure teaching materials are instructive and accessible for a range of learners.
  • Research and identify emerging trends or gaps in chemical education that can inform AI model improvement.
  • Participate in collaborative discussions, providing both written and verbal feedback to advance project goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemistry or near completion of a doctoral degree in Chemistry (ABD candidates considered).
  • Proven record of teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, with ability to communicate chemistry concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated experience in chemical research and scholarly publication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated attention to detail in academic contexts.
  • Familiarity with current pedagogical strategies and curriculum design in chemistry education.
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams or contributing to educational projects.
  • Ability to work independently, manage assignments efficiently, and deliver high-quality results remotely.
